Flamenco at The Royal Room with Melinda Hedgecorth, Jed Miley, and Pirouz de Caspio
For one night only Melinda brings her fierce dancing and delicate force to Seattle from her home in Sevilla, Spain. During her nine years living in Sevilla she has been highly influenced by ¨maestros¨ such as Israel GalvÁn, Isabel BayÓn, Pastora GalvÁn, and Manuela Reyes. She performs in local flamenco tablaos and peÑas as well as making special appearances in El Museo de Baile Flamenco Cristina Hoyos and in the festival Flamenco en la Frontera in MorÓn de la Frontera with accomplished musicians from all over the United States and AndalucÍa, Spain. Joining Melinda is guitarist Jed Miley, newly returned to Seattle from New York where he was working with Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana and Flamenco RevoluciÓn teaching, composing, and performing at venues such as Jacob´s Pillow. He has his own Flamenco Rock band Dientes de Caramelo and will soon be opening a new recording studio in Seattle, Pinche Studios.
Singer Pirouz Ebadypour ¨de Caspio¨has shared the stage with many local and world renowned flamenco artists. His vision to preserve and promote flamenco has inspired him to create and maintain radio station ¨Flamenco Beat¨ and local festivals such as the Annual Jondo Flamenco Festival, which has grown to be one of the most anticipated and recognized flamenco festivals in the West Coast.
