Guerrilla Bondage with Suspended Animation
Ever wanted to take your bondage out of the dungeon and into the outside world? Guerrilla bondage can be tremendous fun, but it presents unusual challenges for the unwary rigger. This unique class begins with a classroom presentation on guerrilla bondage and continues with a field trip to put the theory into practice.
The classroom portion of the class covers draws on Suspended Animation's extensive experience with public shenanigans. We'll talk about the unique challenges of public rigging, and solutions that we've found to be most effective in different situations. Topics to be covered include:
Why guerrilla bondage? We'll discuss some of the reasons for doing guerrilla bondage, along with photos of some of our favorite excursions.
Rigging and engineering. Rigging in the field presents unique technical and safety challenges. We'll discuss our favorite gear, solutions to common rigging challenges, and how to spot some common dangers.
Legal issues. Nobody wants to be on the receiving end of some non-consensual bondage at the hands of law enforcement. We'll talk about what the law says, as well as some common sense guidelines for staying out of trouble. We'll also talk about how not to be a dick, and how to judge whether or not a given situation is appropriate for guerrilla bondage.
Crowd management. Guerrilla bondage often involves coming in contact with unsuspecting members of the public. Whether you're dealing with curious tourists, stoned ravers, or angry husbands with knives, we'll give you useful tips for making your encounters as pleasant as possible for everyone involved. (Yes, we've had encounters with all of those people).
Photography. One of the rewards of doing guerrilla bondage is taking home amazing photos of your work. We'll share some of our favorite photos and talk about how to take your own.
After the lecture half of the class, we'll hop in our cars and go do some guerrilla bondage of our own at a nearby location. As is always the case with guerrilla bondage, exactly what happens next will depend on circumstances that aren't entirely within our control. If all goes well, there will be a limited number of opportunities for students to try their hand at guerrilla bondage.
The class will take place rain or shine. No special skills or equipment are required to attend the class, but students wishing to perform guerrilla bondage in the field will need to bring their own suspension gear.
